Christmas is racing towards us and many businesses are under pressure as they become busier. This does not mean that it is acceptable to dictate how your customers, or potential customers, can contact you.
No customers = No business.
Continue to provide superb customer service regardless of the pressure you are under. Do not give your problems to your customers.
I had the unfortunate experience of spending over five minutes waiting to talk to a courier company. After finally making contact with an agent and saying that I had a couple of questions, I was told to find the answers on their website. She did not ask what I was wanting or display any interest in gaining me as a customer.
Needless to say, I did not go to their website, but rang another company who was able to listen to my queries, offer options and a solution, and gained a new customer.
